Transcript:

  • The technology I used was my phone, CapCut, and iMovie. My original intent was to borrow my dad’s professional camera and shoot with it, but we ran into a few problems. Yes, we had the camera but the charger was not working, and no one in the group knew how to work the camera nor transfer it onto editing platforms. What sense would it make to use a dying camera, that none of us even knew how to work? My new solution to that was Iphone 14 cinematic mode. Using Apple’s product assured that I can easily download the footage and send it to editing software. Next, I put the scenes into iMovie first. The timing of the scenes needed to match the audio with the correct speed before using CapCut. iMovie is another Apple service that is designed for editing, but I decided it was not enough to my liking. Finally, the last step was to use CapCut for different effects and animations that iMovie could not add. The effects and animations were simply the  cracking sounds, scene transitions, lighting changes. All the editing was free and for the production of the video was no more than $20, for the props. Using CapCut was the official last step to create my film. The editing was a breeze with the mentioned technologies above and that is how my film “Cold Case” reached its success.  Thank you for the support Emeralds as I journey my way into being a future director.

What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Similarly to Smile, our final task will also include the conventions of extreme closeups, selective props, and planned settings.   The conventions only are included to drive onto the next plot drafted by the director. Our Pitch

 Our Pitch: Pitch A: A group of friends explore a abandoned building, a surprise is waiting for them. Pitch B: Two agents are sent to gather information from high school students on a case, but are the students agents too? Pitch A grabs my attention by the suspense the idea creates. I love the idea that my groupmates wants to include acting in the opening, therefore, it will not just be music throughout the whole film.  It has a concern that teenagers are alone in buildings with no surveillance, which is exactly what I want. It evokes anxiety and different emotions to make the audience want to watch more. With this pitch, the setting alone is the most exciting part.  Pitch B is okay, however it seems a bit bland. Yes, agents are pretending to be friends with these high school students, but what else? The opening will just be lack lustering.  Hi, my name is Ayannah Alincy. I would describe myself as a caring, gentle, and genuine person. I believe that having these three characteristics, will help my succeed in life. Unlike many, I weigh the positive outlook of events first rather than negative. This allows me to better the mood and set the tone for the week. Some of my strengths are time management, the ability to spot critical detail, and most importantly patience. As a human, I have weaknesses too. They are expanding my creativity, being open minded, and challenging myself to accomplish hard tasks. I really enjoy the beauty of the color green. As a toddler, I would observe nature and fall in love with how leafs of trees were green. This led me to buy many things green from the elegance and vibrance the color gives off.
